Clean Up on Aisle 4
Oh my dear shortcakes, your pregnant leader took an unfortunate spill on Saturday. I stopped over to the local supermarket directly across the street from my house to pick up some kibble for Korver. Well, shortly after picking up his little 5lb bag of yummies, I rounded the corner only to slip and fall to the floor. It happened so fast that I had no idea what on earth had happened. I just knew that I was on the floor. Oh my dears, the tears began to flow because the only thing I could think of was my little angel being tossed all over the place.
Well, most people kept walking and ignored my enormous form sprawled across the floor but one lady was very helpful and ran to my rescue. She immediately alerted the store officials and told them no, her water didn't break, she slipped on this clear fluid on the floor and she needs help...she's pregnant. So this nice lady called my husband who darted over and the officials at the store began taking my claim and calling for an ambulance. Thankfully, they cleaned up the spill and blocked off the area (where during this time I still felt like a zoo animal as people wandered by me in shock, horror, and confusion - some hoping that I would give birth right then and there...how's that for reality tv?)
The ambulance came within minutes and I was loaded onto a stretcher and I was hauled out of the store in no time. The ambulance guys were so funny and nice that I had almost forgot what was going on....I guess that's all a part of their job. To keep me from blubbering like a nut. Once at this nice catholic hospital in the city, the staff kept me calm and checked me out and everything seemed to be on the up and up. Thank goodness...I've never been more scared in my life. Neither had the ATM...and let's just say the ATM does really good in these situations - with his poker face.
So as of right now, everything is fine, most importantly the baby. And I will follow up with my practice on tomorrow to see if they want to see me before my next scheduled appt. on Wednesday.
Oh my dears, please keep my little one in your thoughts.....
